1. Pensez-vous que nous pouvons diminuer notre consommation d'énergie? comment?

Yes, we can do something to reduce our energy consumption. In order to produce a clean energy, we need to develop new technologies like nuclear fusion, and to radically improve the existing energy production methods to allow the existing clean –solar and wind-turbines- power plant to work with a minimal loss of energy.

But the improvement of the energy production technologies is only one part of the solution. Every family in the world has to change her way of life. But how? By using the public transportation systems when possible, and in winter, by reducing their house heating. Every improvement we make toward the reduction of our energy consumption is crucial for our future.


2. Pensez-vous qu'on peut vivre sans nucléaire? Comment?

No, right now we can not stop the nuclear energy production because it is our main source of energy. The nuclear power plants create nuclear waste, but these waste only play a minimal role in global warming.

However, if we succeed developing the nuclear fusion technology, and make a better use of wind and solar energy, I believe we can reduce, or suppress, the need of nuclear energy in the next years.


3. Êtes-vous prêt pour l'après ère du pétrole? Est ce possible?

No, not right now. Our actual society, means of production and of transportation were created to be propelled by fuel. The plastic elements that are commonly used in our modern industry are created from oil and our economic system is based on the fact that we can manufacture something using materials that were harvested miles away because petroleum makes transportation easy.

It will take time for the society to adapt to the post-petroleum era, but we still have time to act before this era. Because we need to create the new technologies now to use them tomorrow, and to ultimately end our need for oil.


4. L’énergie solaire est elle une solution?

Maybe. The solar energy production could be the solution or a part of it... But not right now. Solar energy is costly to produce; so it is an unattractive solution to the energetic problems since the energy consumers do not want to pay more for the same amount of energy. Ecology is a hobby for the riches.


5. Que pensez-vous des voitures privées?

The private cars are comfortable because they are built for this purpose. Furthermore, the individual car method of transport is way more efficient in terms of time than most of the public transportation networks. But this transportation solution isn't ecologic...

Individual transportation is the main cause of the global warming. Unless we create electric cars and make sure that the electricity that propel them is produced without pollution, everybody should sacrifice their comfort for the world of tomorrow and our governments should promote new, faster, more efficient means of public transportation.
